A Neonatal Nurse Salary Can Increase Significantly Over Time

Since the 1960s, most hospitals in the United States have included a neonatal unit to care for babies in the first twenty-eight days of their lives. As a result, neonatal nursing has become an increasingly popular career path for people interested in the health care profession. A neonatal nurse salary varies depending on many factors, but there are always opportunities for it to increase over time.

On average, a neonatal nurse working in the United States can expect to make about sixty-three thousand dollars per year. However, in many cases, they make as little as forty-nine thousand dollars per year or as much as eighty thousand dollars per year. It all depends on their education, experience and the location of the hospital. For example, a neonatal nurse will make more in a metropolitan area than a rural area.

The level of education that a nurse has completed will have a significant impact on the salary that he or she is offered. Those who start on the lower end of the pay scale most likely have become certified by completing an Associates Degree in Nursing. Those who have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing can expect to make significantly more money on their first day in the business.

It is important to keep in mind that a neonatal nurse and a neonatal nurse practitioner are not quite the same thing. A nurse practitioner has more responsibilities and must attend more school in order to become qualified to do their job. If a neonatal nurse would like to start earning a higher salary, they should consider returning to school and becoming a nurse practitioner.

After working in the profession for some time, many neonatal nurses feel that they are ready to teach those who are just entering the field. This gives them the opportunity to challenge themselves in a new way while staying within the line of work that they love. When they make the transition to teachers, many neonatal nurses begin earning as much as one hundred and ninety thousand dollars per year.

Becoming a neonatal nurse is a very rewarding career choice for many people because they have the opportunity to help babies start off their lives on a healthy foot. The average neonatal nurse salary rewards them for their efforts by providing a comfortable wage. Once they have worked in the field for some time, many neonatal nurses take advantage of opportunities to raise their base salaries significantly.

Monetary vs Non Monetary Rewards in a Employee Referral Program

There has always been a raging debate on the efficacy of monetary versus non- monetary rewards for an employee referral program as key enablers for employees. While some people prefer to be rewarded with hard cash for a job well done, non-monetary rewards can take several forms such as:

The primary advantage of Monetary rewards center around the fact that they are:

A)Easy to understand and B)Their Universality ensures that they appeal to employees across designation levels

On the other hand, ofcourse there is adefinite flip side associated with monetary rewards:

A)Over a sustained period of time, they start to lose value as employee interest dithers. They are sometimes taken for granted while at others there is the constant need of increasing the monetary value to keep employees engaged.

B)If they come as a part of the employee salary, they often go towards regular expenses, diminishing their importance.

As opposed to monetary rewards, non-monetary rewards have the advantages of keeping employees engaged & motivated through public recognition. They also have the advantage of immediacy, where employees can be rewarded immediately following their achievements.

Just while one begins to think that non-monetary rewards are a panacea for all ills, a study conducted by at Wichita State University revealed that when given a choice between cash or Non Monetary Rewards 63% of the people would pick cash. However, when asked what would satisfy them, cash or a non-monetary reward, a majority said they would prefer non-monetary rewards. When faced with a real life situation, the utility of the cash, therefore, leads many to make a more practical though less satisfying decision.

Non Monetary rewards have their own sets of disadvantages, primary among them being:

A)Offering non monetary rewards that do not interest employees can instead of motivating employees, convey an impression that the organization does not know their employee interests & worse still, does not care about them.

B)Problems may also occur if the perceived value of the non-monetary incentive falls below the employee expectations.

There is, therefore,no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to motivating employees. The choice of monetary versus non-monetary solutions depends upon a range of factors, including but not limited to industry practices & business goals. Very often, one cannot work in the absence of the other. A judicious mix is perhaps the only answer.

How Employee Engagement Programs Increase Morale

What makes your employees committed to your company? How important would this commitment be? The productive employee will bring more cash and profits to the company. In fact, there had been disclosures that employee engagement programs are related to business profitability and customer satisfaction.

Employee engagement programs

First an employee engagement program is a kind of effective business management concept. This is geared to cause in the employee a sense of commitment to the company through undying enthusiasm to work for the profitability of the firm. Engaged employees have positive attitudes toward the business and would do everything to help management achieve company objectives.

Employee incentive programs

For the part of management, it gives out employee incentive programs that are geared to reward the engaged employees. The incentive program is also a kind of business management concept. This aims to induce the employees to be fully engaged to the company. These two business concepts employee engagement programs and employee incentive programs are two of the business management concepts that can help in business success.

How do these two programs for employees contribute to the profitability of the business? The reward to an employee can make him work better. The productivity is increased such that every dollar spent on the salary is returned with more output. However, a company cannot expect every employee to share the same sentiments for the company. These employees who seem to be falling out should be presented with challenges and more incentives. It has been asserted that an employee has the tendency to improve his performance when the company motivates and makes the employee develop engagement. Pay may be an element of the motivating factor but recognition and commendation can at times be good incentives.

The net effect in the income statement of the company PROFIT!

Understanding Your Rights as an Employee

When you go for an interview, when you are on the job, or when you leave a job, you have certain rights. Federal and state legal statutes protect these rights. If you feel that your employer did something illegal, it is better to consider an employment attorney to understand what step you can take.

Federal laws prohibit discrimination on grounds of sex, color, race, religion, age, national origin and disability. Along with these, the Illinois laws also prohibit discrimination on grounds of marital status and sexual orientation. Moreover, Chicago also has legal directives that prohibit discrimination concerning having/not having children.

If you are trying to get a job, and face questions at the interview that are not quite relevant, it depends on you whether you want to answer them or not. Asking something related to the job is legal. However, if you come across personal questions that do not seem relevant, you may enquire politely about the reason for the question.

Discrimination occurs when an employer takes a job-related decision based on the aforementioned -protected traits’. This may be in case of hiring or firing, promotion or demotion, salary hike or decrease, and any such others. Whatever the issue, legal counsel and representation helps you take the right approach to the case.

While you are at the job, you have the right to a minimum wage. For Illinois, this is $8.25 per hour. The overtime pay directive also makes it essential for an employer to pay one and a half of the wages, according to the number of extra hours, to an employee who works in excess of the stipulated 40 hours a week.

You also have the right to paid leave for voting and donating blood and unpaid leave in certain circumstances, e.g. to nurse a baby (for a female), and so on. Dress code for particular employees is also illegal. However, understanding the difference between unfair and illegal requires help from a Chicago employment attorney.

After you leave a job, you may be entitled to severance pay, vacation pay, and such others. Unemployment insurance, available in Chicago, is also helpful at this time. You can continue to avail the health benefits from the employer. However, this implies that you have to pay for it.

Understanding your rights and getting an employment lawyer to help you in case of a violation is important. These rights safeguard you from discrimination and other illegal activities, and therefore, you need to understand the interpretations and implications of these laws.

Employee Training And Development Should Continue After Initial Training Procedures

Training new employees should never end after the original training process. Often, an employer will put their new employees through a month of classroom training, going through every arcane fact that pertains to the business, and then dumping them out into their workforce. It is tough to understand the job title and the responsibility that comes with it without a more through training process. People are always learning on the job and it isn’t until doing the actual job itself that the employee starts to get a grip of what his or her job responsibilities are.

New employees should always be shown thorough and complete rules and regulations that have to do with the business. If they are left confused about anything at all, they will not be happy with the job they have been given. They should always know who their trainers are, where they should go every day and what their job will entail. Anything that is in their job description should be gone over by a trainer who can answer questions when they arise.

When trainers or managers fail to inform employees of all the things they need to know, it opens the door to mistakes and miscommunications. Both of these can devastate a business so it is best when all employees know exactly what they are supposed to be doing at all times, whether they are a new employee or not.

Employers are seeking people who have skills, qualifications and the education to be the kind of employees they need to successfully run their company. Once the employees know the rules, know what their job is and how to do it, the employers can continue to develop their skills by offering college courses, refresher courses or other methods of keeping employees up to date on new procedures, techniques and knowledge. This is excellent for molding employees into future executives of the company.

Supervisors make their employees job satisfaction rates high by showing them appreciation and respect. New employees will not stay at a job where the existing employees are not happy and are not afraid to show it. Managers should keep this in mind when dealing with new employees, knowing what they will see and whom they will talk to. It is better to guard against such bad situations by making sure all employees know that they are valued and a vital cog to the operation of the business. They may decide to cross train their employees, giving them additional responsibilities, showing them respect by suggesting additional training in more areas.

Managers also need to make sure their employees feel comfortable or they likely will not be at the company for long. Make sure the employees know exactly what the job entails and that there will always be there to answer every question and the employer will feel loyal and be more likely to stay with the company for a long time.

The Nobel Profession Receives Malice Due To Doctors Like Dr. Michael Duplessie

Medical profession involves highly commendable practices utilized to save and improve healthcare conditions. Everyone understands the worth of a good doctor and how they work to bring patients out of most horrendous conditions. We trust them and willingly spend any amount of resources to avail their services. However malpractice is significant to the noble professional like medicine and very often we come across cases of negligent practices.

In a recent verdict Dr. Michael Duplessie, a self proclaimed worlds best eye surgeon is sued for Lasik malpractice (follow: to know more in detail).

We requested feedback from some of Dr. Micheal D. Dupliesses ex patients and the results are here for everyone to know:

Id rate Dr. Dupliesses services as quite average. He was cold and it seemed that my case was just another routine for him. No conversation or anything of that sort. He prescribed me medicines and then I left. Since the time Ive not gone back.

I visited Dr. Dupliesses clinic with my son who was very nervous on his first visit to a pediatric ophthalmologist. The appointment was scheduled at 10:30 a.m. and we were there very much on time but didnt see the doctor even till 11:30. My child turned irritable and started crying endlessly of fear and never ending wait. To add to it receptionist kept giving me bad looks. I had to finally bring him back home. I am never going to visit his clinic ever!!

I was actually afraid of doctors and when I visited Dr. Micheal Dupliesse my fear worsened. HE WAS RUDE AND UNCARING. I couldnt see any sort of professionalism in him. He is arrogant too.

I had visited Dr. Dupliesse for the treatment of Chalezia in my left eye. The lump had grown really big over a period of time but he kept on insisting that itll gradually go away and didnt prescribe any medication. But ultimately when it turned red with a lot of inflammation around in my eye he operated it which was even the worse! He gave me a local anaesthesia that was not effective!! All the time during procedure I kept on complaining about pain in the eye but he wont listen. I had never seen an eye surgeon like him ever in my life. The impressions of such a horrendous experience are still afresh in my mind.

This doctor is unprofessional and lacks basic social skills for good patient rapport. He is arrogant also. Quite possibly the worst eye surgeon I have ever met in my 37 years of life.

The last time I went here, there was a mistake and they tried to manipulate to handle it. This time, there were a series of mistakes, all handled poorly. Never, ever again will I return here and I urge others to stay away from Dr. Micheal Dupliesse practice.
